Hey Isildur1 - Come Join The Fun!
Some things in life just don't make sense. Isildur1 has become a legend within the game and no one has even seen him play on TV. As the hardcore poker community continues to grow so too does the fan bases of the high stakes 'nose bleed' players that give railbirds so much entertainment late into the night - and I'm one of them! Where ever I am in the World I am forever logging on to watch the big games on Full Tilt. It fascinates me that people are prepared to put such huge sums of money on the line and since I have become good friends with a number of them, it's nice to funk for say Tom or Ilari if they are in a big game.
Whilst the crazy action from October last year seems to have simmered, Isildur1 still keeps finding bullets to have another shot. So when and how will it all end? Is he simply busting his roll on FTP and grinding 25/50 on the Euro sites and taking another shot? Who is backing him? I don't believe that anyone can consistently win at 25/50 like he would have to do to keep reloading so I think it's pretty obvious he's being backed somewhere down the line. I'm not sure who by, but it's certainly not Tony G! I have watched him play thousands of hands and I remember Luke (FullFlush) telling me at the start he was one of the best NLH players he had ever seen but his transition to PLO seems to have killed him off. I think the bottom line is that he is a sicko that craves action and he doesn't really care if he is plus millions or broke, it's just what he needs.
When he was up about six million bucks, I sent him an email. I couldn't believe the attention he was getting across 2plustwo and all the other forums. This guy was a cult hero and whilst many knew who he was, his elusiveness and mystery just added to the attraction. I sensed the commercial potential and wanted to be part of it. It was all happening at the same time as the Durrrr Challenge that we were filming and I wanted him on the show. It would have (and still would be) the biggest heads up challenge in poker history. Can anyone imagine the numbers this would reach on a live stream? He wasn't interested. I kinda understood his reasons to be pseudonymous, this was a young kid who had just run up over 6 million against the best poker players in the World - in a space of less than a week and who lived in a Country where the tax man would have enjoyed his run nearly as much as he did.
Nearly 6 months on, some things have changed. Some things haven't. He no longer has the bank roll but he is still surfing the cloud of mystery amongst poker fans and has the same commercial value he did after almost busting Tom. So why not unveil yourself to the World? What do you have to lose? You have a commercial value to a site of well over $1 million so why not exploit it?
There would be no better time than our upcoming show at Les A casino in London - The Big Game. A 48 hour NLH cash game that will feature some of the game’s best players and biggest personalities and will be distributed to a Worldwide audience just dying to see you play - hell just see your face!
So let's see what the response is this time around – come on Viktor... come join the fun.
