Jesse May and "Mad" Marty Wilson nominated for British Poker Awards - 02/08/2010

Matchroom Sport’s Poker commentator Jesse May and regular tournament director “Mad” Marty Wilson have been nominated for the Best Contribution to Poker Award at the first ever British Poker Awards.

The Awards will be presented at the Fox Poker Club in London’s West End on September 13 with eight of the 11 awards on the night voted for by the public at www.thebritishpokerawards.com.

May has commentated on Matchroom Sport’s poker events for over five years and writes regular articles for a number of magazines, as well as producing the popular Poker Show with Jesse May podcast.

Wilson also writes a number of articles and has been a central figure in Matchroom Sport’s poker events in the last five years on top of his own success in the game and his work in promoting poker in his native West Midlands and beyond.

The other categories that the public can vote for are Best Cash Player, Best Tournament Player, Best Online Player, Best International Player, Best Poker League and Best UK Forum, with a panel of professional players choosing the Best All Round Player and Best New Player and the editors of Bluff Europe magazine, Poker Europa magazine and Poker News choosing the Player of the Year.
