Mad Marty cashes in Vegas seniors - 30/06/2008

Matchroom Poker's Tournament Director "Mad" Marty Wilson final tabled at this year's $1000 NLH seniors event at this year's WSOP. He went into the final with 454,000 chips, eighth out of nine. The chips counts were:

It has always been a dream for Marty to win a bracelet, who has been going to Vegas for over 15 years. Unfortunately this was not going to be his year. After an early raise Marty pushed all in. The raiser Fred Berger called and showed A,Q. Marty flipped over 88. The flop came down Q,Q,K. Marty had to hit an 8 to stay in the tournament. The turn came down a Jack and the river the 7 and Marty finished in ninth place and picked up $34,312.

"I always look forward to coming to Vegas and dream of winning a bracelet. Over the years I have seen and learnt so much from all the top professionals. I wanted to do this for everyone back in Bridgnorth and after coming fairly close in the past couple of years I thought this might be it. Never mind... there's always the main event."
