PartyPoker.com Big Game V to be streamed online - 13/04/2011
The countdown is on to the Matchroom Sport organized PartyPoker.com Big Game V, which will take place at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham, UK, from 8pm GMT on Friday April 15th until 8pm GMT on Sunday 17th April.
For the first time, the event will be streamed on the internet via Pokernews.com, with an interesting twist and world first for poker – as well as the players, the public will also have their say in EVICTING players from the table! There will also be other interactive elements including competitions, interactive interviews and quizzes to keep stream viewers engaged. Amongst those pencilled in to play include: Tony G, Luke ‘FullFlush’ Schwartz, Dave ‘The Devilfish’ Ulliott, Sam Trickett, David ‘Viffer’ Peat, Annette Obrestad, Bruno Fitoussi, Neil Channing, Jennifer Tilly, Roberto Romanello, Robert Williamson III, Toby Lewis, Andrew Feldman, Alec Torelli, JP Kelly and Dusty Schmidt. Eight ‘PartyPoker.com Wildcard’ online qualifiers from the ‘Road to the Big Game’ promotion will also get an opportunity to play after winning $15,000 packages. Like last year, the players will enter to their own walk-on music. The game is £25/£50 NLH with straddles determined by the players at the table. Extra money is added through the £500 PokerNews pot every two hours. Evictions will alternate between the players deciding and the viewers of the stream deciding.
A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “The innovation of introducing streaming and evictions will make for engaging viewing. This is no ordinary poker live stream, you will get hole cards, graphics and the tv commentary from Jesse May and a variety of co-commentators over 48 hours – it will be like watching it on tv. Who’s a nit? Who don’t you like? You have influence! The only exceptions to eviction are that statistically the most active player is exempt and that each of the ‘PartyPoker.com Wildcard’ online qualifiers are guaranteed four hours play. You will be able to watch the stream, get involved with the action and vote on all PokerNews.com home pages worldwide.”
Eddie Hearn, Managing Director of Matchroom Sport said: “The atmosphere on the set of the PartyPoker.com Big Game is like no other. The players play with their own money and the action is raw and the banter is hilarious as the players drift in and out of delirium over the 48 hour period. I'm delighted that poker fans will be able to watch the action as it happens and believe this stream will be one of the most popular ever broadcast within the game.” Team PartyPoker.com Pro Tony G has been shopping for bikes, trikes and fancy dress costumes. He has his view on evictions calling for the poker community to form a Nit Patrol! He also lists the players taking part so far and their walk-on music. The action will be televised internationally later this year and will be presented by Kara Scott and Lisa Marie Long. The PartyPoker.com Big Game IV in London last April was dominated by David "Viffer" Peat, who became the biggest winner in the five editions of the tournament, scooping £147k as he sat through the entire 48 hours.
Dusk Till Dawn is hosting a £1000 + £90 tournament with £250,000 guaranteed from Thursday 14th April at 2pm that will be running alongside the PartyPoker.com Big Game V. Dusk Till Dawn is a premier poker venue with 45 all dealer dealt tables and 24 plasma screens. The www.partypoker.com/blog/ will also be providing comprehensive updates and gossip.
