World Open VI final table set – starts Wednesday 9th Feb - 07/02/2011
With forty eight of the world best players travelling to the Palm Beach Casino Mayfair in the heart of London for the PartyPoker.com World Open VI we are now down to our last seven players, and a new champion will be crowned as defending champion Phil Laak was disposed off in heat one.
The final table which starts on Wednesday has an array of talent, old school and new school, EPT winners, bracelet winners, WPT champions and Premier League champions.
Heat one was taken down by East Anglian businessman Dale Hoy after he defeated Toby Lewis. Heat two saw Durrrr, Roland De Wolfe and 2010 Irish Open Champion James Mitchell take to the felt but it was Victory Poker’s Andrew Robl who beat his American compatriot Brandon Cantu to take his seat at the final table at his first attempt.
Heat three couldn’t have been tougher with the likes of Annette Obrestad, David “Viffer” Peat, John Duthie, Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman and The Gentleman Liam Flood. It was down to two friend’s heads up – John Duthie and Mahmoud Berjaoui - and it was Duthie who took the fourth seat at the final.
Finnish star Juha Helppi took down heat five beating last year’s finalist Jennifer Tilly heads up and heat six saw 2009 WCOOP and WPT World champion Yevgeniy Timoshenko beat 2010 WSOP player of the year Frank Kassela head up.
Each of the runners up then took to the felt in a turbo heat with the winner taking the final seat at the final table. Toby Lewis took it down leaving Frank Kassela distraught in second spot.
So the final line up is as follows (each player starting with $300,000 starting stack)
Seat 1 Dale Hoy Seat 2 Juha Helppi Seat 3 Toby Lewis Seat 4 Andrew Robl Seat 5 Yevgeniy Timoshenko Seat 6 John Duthie Seat 7 Sam Trickett
