“TAKE AWAY” DAVE GREGORY FIRST MAN THROUGH TO SEMI'S

The very first hand of the game caused a stir when Anthony Hutton went all in when a 9 came down on the river.  Paul Smith held AQ and he paired his Q on the turn, but when Hutton moved all in he laid his hand down.

“The Bookie” was the first to leave the table, when his pocket queens ran into Dave Gregory’s pocket kings; Gregory now had the chip lead with $201000.

5 hands later Mick Downey was sent crashing, holding A7 he was up against Hutton’s AQ.  It looked good when he hit his 7 on the flop, then came the killer queen to knock him out.

It was all over for the ex Big Brother Champion when the “Steelman” Dave Broadhurst woke up and hit a seven on the river to make a set and beat Hutton’s Jacks.

Gutshot Qualifier Paul Smith then sent the “The Steelman” packing when he spiked his king on the flop, Broadhurst needed to hit an ace to survive but the turn and river bought no help and Smith was heads up with Gregory.

Heads up lasted 6 hands and it was Dave Gregory who went through.  Smith went all in with 3s, As, and was called by Gregory who held Qd, Jd.  The flop came down Kd, Qc, Js.  Gregory hit two pair and Smith needed a miracle, running spades or running aces.  The turn came down a 6s, and the river an 8c sending Dave Gregory through.
