Big names line up for the Big Game III
The PartyPoker.com Poker Den – the Big Game is back for its third series, and if you thought the last two 24hr games were good, well the third is going to be longer and all the big guns will be in town to take part. The Big Game III will run for 36 hours and will be held at the famous Poker Den in the East End of London.
The usual suspects are in line to return, Tony G, Phil Hellmuth, Devilfish, Jamie Gold, Robert Williamson III, Roland De Wolfe, Neil Channing, Andrew Feldman, Brain Townsend and Kirk Morrison. Other players scheduled to make an appearance are Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jon Kalmar, Sammy “Any Two” George, Roberto Romanello, John Tabatabai, Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, Jennifer Tilly, Anthony Hardy and many more...
Players have an option of sitting down with either $10,000 or $20,000 and blind levels will be $25/$50. Straddling was very popular among the players in the last two series, so no doubt the players will want to raise the stakes – with the tournament director’s discretion of course!
Eddie Hearn, head of online gaming at Matchroom Sport said: “The Poker Den has come such a long way since we started it back in the summer of 2005. The Big Game has been such a huge success, and the two series so far have attracted the best players in the world, we have seen some great action, fantastic banter between the players and some berating between players. Who can forget Tony G laying into Phil Curtis! With this series being eight hours longer, some players have boasted that they can go the full 36 hours without a break, well let’s see.”
One person who won’t need any rest is Jesse May, he will commentate on every single minute and he will be joined by a selection of professionals as co-commentators throughout the game.
The show will be filmed on Tuesday September 30 and Wednesday October 1 and will be shown on Channel 5 early next year and be distributed throughout the world.
The Den won’t take any prisoners, and you will be able to follow the action as there will be Live Reporting on www.matchroompoker.com.
