CLAYTON THROUGH AS KESTON AND GALE ARE BLOWN AWAY
Heat 6 of the 888.com UK Poker Open III bought WSOP bracelet winner John Gale to the table. He was joined by Robin Keston, Dave Clayton, Craig Burgess and two online qualifiers John McLardy and Sean Dougal. The last two heats have seen big successes for the on liners and it was no different for McLardy and Dougal. John Gale - proudly donning his bracelet - started well taking down a few early pots, but the first real body blow was dealt to on-line qualifier Dougal, picking up the pocket rockets he decided to flat call the big blind. It came round to Craig Burgess who looked down and saw two ladies smiling at him, he raised, came back to Dougal who re-raised. Burgess thought about it and went all in and Dougal couldn't call quick enough. The flop bought no joy for Burgess, he needed that queen, and it cam e on the turn giving him trips and Dougal was down to his last 2000. A couple of hands later he was out, all in with J,7 Robin Keston had A,10, the board came down with rags and he was gone. The next to leave was John Gale, the bracelet was gleaming but he wasn't, he went all in with A,9 and was called by Clayton with 7,7. The board came down 4,2,7 giving Clayton trips and leaving Gale virtually drawing dead to two Aces, one came down on the turn but the river came down a 6. Robin Keston then started to dominate, raising on the button, charging the limpers tax on his big blind, and he dealt the killer blow to Craig Burgess. Burgess' first TV appearance wasn't one he will want to remember. With A,6 he was all in and called immediately by Keston with pocket 5's. The flop came down Jd,9d,Kh, he needed an A or 6 or running hearts. The turn Kd and the river 3d giving Keston the flush.Keston was on fire and five hands later he was at it again taking out McLardy. McClardy raised pre flop with Q,K and was called by Keston with 4,6 off suit. The flop came down 5,4,6 and McLardy went all in, Keston looked bemused and called showing two pair, Aces came down on the turn and river and left Clayton and Keston heads up.Clayton started with 160,000 in chips and Keston 340,000. Dave fought back and took the lead and when Keston moved all in with A,10 he was delighted when Clayton called with K,7. The flop showed 5,3,2 giving Keston the lead and needing a 4 for the wheel. The turn came a 10, and Clayton now needed an A or a K to win. The dealer flipped the card over and it was a K giving Clayton the win and the final seat of the first Semi-Final. The first semi final heat will line up as follows : Dave Gregory, Robert Cooper, Clive Cox, Ian Parkinson, Simon Clark and Dave Clayton.
