YOUNG GUN FENTON STRIKES DOWN GERMAN TO TAKE SEAT IN THE SEMI FINALS

Scott Fenton
Heat 3 of the PartyPoker.com European Open III saw German Christian Schulz, Gutshot Qualifier Dave Muller, Steve Clear, Scott Fenton, Luke Patten and the boisterous Andy Greekfish take their seats at the table.

Scott Fenton started strong and took control of the heat by getting chips in early.  He then confirmed his dominance when he knocked out Luke Patten.  Fenton was all in with Ah, Kh and Patten called holding Ad, Qc.  The board failed to help
Patten and he was first out.

Five hands later and the Gutshot qualifier was gone, and it was that man Fenton who took him out.  Fenton was holding pocket Queens and Muller Ad, 10s.  Unfortunately, Muller did not hit and his gallant effort was over.

Fenton was like a man on a mission, he wanted this done and dusted.  The very next hand he proceeded to knock out Steve Clear who had his beaver next to him for luck.  Clear was all in with 9s, Js and Fenton called with Ah, Qd.  When the Queen came down on the flop it looked curtains for Clear, but a 9 on the turn gave him a chance.  He needed to hit that 9 on the river but it came down 2h and Clear who won a seat at the Swancoat in Bridgnorth was out.

Greekfish was still in the game, just biding his time and waiting for the right time to make his moves.  Schulz then started his attack and took the chip lead.  Fenton then regained the lead the next hand when he hit a 10 on the river to give him the straight.

Greekfish, with a bright pink top on, was then KO’d by Fenton.  He was all in with Ah, 7c, and Fenton held Ks, Qd.  The flop came down 4s, 9h, Kd.  Fenton paired
his K and the turn and river didn’t help Greekfish and he was out in third.

Fenton had $468,000 in chips going into the heads up battle with Schulz and it was over in four hands.  Fenton’s Ad, Qc holding up against Schulz’s 7d, 9d.  It was a roller coaster of a ride for Fenton but he has made it through to the semi-finals, where he will be up against Dave Gregory and Nick Persaud.
